International Youth Development – Jollyski Overall Cup 2026 Italy

Report: Jolly Overall Cup 2026 – Italy

As part of the Irish Waterski & Wakeboard Federation’s Youth Development Programme, the Irish Youth Development Squad travelled to Italy in September 2026 to compete in the Jollyski Overall Cup, held at San Gervasio Bresciano, Brescia, from 11–13 September 2026.

Five young female athletes represented Ireland at the competition: Robyn Malone, Kezzy McKibbin, Lauren Hennessy, Keanna McKibbin and Uma Prunty. The team was managed by Barry Galvin, who also acted as coach, minibus driver and safeguarding lead. Trish Hennessy provided female liaison support, while Graeme McKibbin travelled as a parent.

The competition provided the athletes with an excellent opportunity to gain valuable international experience, compete against athletes from other countries and develop their skills in a high-level competitive environment. International competition is an important part of the Federation’s commitment to developing young Irish waterskiers and preparing them for future national and international events.

A particular highlight of the competition was the outstanding performance of Lauren Hennessy, aged 15, who achieved fourth place in the Female Overall. This was a fantastic result and a significant achievement for Lauren, reflecting her commitment and development as an athlete. Her performance was a positive outcome for the Federation’s Youth Development Programme and demonstrated the potential of Ireland’s emerging young talent.

In addition to the Youth Development Squad, Daniel Galvin competed separately in Slalom, Trick and Jump, gaining further experience across all three waterski disciplines. Graeme McKibbin also entered the Slalom event independently of his role accompanying the team as a parent.

The trip required considerable organisation and support to ensure that the athletes could participate safely and effectively. The involvement of the team management, coaching and female liaison support helped provide an appropriate environment for the young athletes throughout the competition.

Overall, the Jolly Overall Cup 2026 was a valuable experience for the Irish team. It provided meaningful international competition exposure, supported the development of young female athletes and reinforced the importance of the Federation’s investment in youth development. The result achieved by Lauren Hennessy was a particular highlight, and the experience gained by all participants will help support their continued progression in the sport.

The Federation would like to acknowledge everyone involved in supporting the trip and the continued development of young Irish waterski athletes through international competition opportunities.
