Lower Bann Club was formed in 2009 by a number of wakeboarders who wanted to take part in competitions and needed to be in a club to obtain an IWWF competition licence. Since then the club have successfully organised a number of competitions including the Wakeboard Nationals and have taken part in Riverfest (an event put together by club chairman, Rob Skelly). Members encourage each other and give helpful advice on skiing, wakeboarding, wake surfing and air chairing.

Located on the River Bann, LBWC is a boat owner's club operating out of Drumaheglis Caravan Park and Marina. As well as a play park for children, on site facilities include public toilets and showers. There are also jetties with disabled access allowing users to board without fuss. There are several miles of river to enjoy before the lock gates at Coleraine which lead out to the sea. There is a competition specification wakeboard kicker and a portable slalom course which can be put in the water when required. As a boat owner's club there are several competition wakeboard boats including Mastercraft X2s and Air Nautique 210s.

Rates are negotiated with boat owners.
